Chief Executive Officer Message

Over the past few years, we have all witnessed a visible shift in Somalia’s urban landscape. This momentum reflects renewed confidence in our country’s future, and it is encouraging. But growth on its own is not enough. If it is not guided by standards, planning, and accountability, it can create challenges as quickly as it creates opportunity.

It was at such a time that SORECA was established, when the sector needed structure and coordination. Our role is practical and grounded. We work to strengthen professional standards, contribute to discussions on land and construction policy, support technical competence within the industry, and encourage responsible business conduct among our members.

Meeting expectations is essential. Investors require predictability. Communities deserve safe and well-planned environments. Government needs credible private sector partners. Our responsibility is to help ensure the sector meets these expectations.

The responsibility to shape Somalia’s cities is significant, and the way we build today will shape our cities for many years to come. We must build with care, responsibility, and long-term thinking.
